CLASS 'A' AIR GAP (BREAK TANK)

A Class 'A' Air gap (Break Tank), is fitted to prevent dirty water flowing from the dish/glasswasher back into the mains water.

Air gaps are becoming a requirement on glasswasher and dishwasher equipment fitted in commercial kitchens. However to date, glasswashers fitted within the bar area do not require an Air gap.

Authorities are recommending and in some cases enforcing Air gap requirements. It is still a grey area and we would therefore recommend that you either purchase a machine with an Air gap fitted or contact your local authority for advice.

All of our Dishwashers and the majority of our Glasswashers are fitted with class A air gaps taking away additional work and worry.

Air gaps also have a booster pump built in. It may be necessary to have a booster pump if you have low water pressure.
